Student

The Musée des Augustins has been building strong ties with the student community for almost twenty years. We continue to uphold that long-established commitment by crafting experiences designed for all students.
The student community in the heat of the museum
The museum fosters long-term partnerships with several higher education institutions. They allow students to get fully involved in the museum’s cultural programme. For example, the ‘Let’s talk art’ scheme lets students offer visitors an expert description of the paintings and sculptures every weekend (except during school holidays).
Affordable deals for all students
Throughout the year, students can take advantage of a special admission rate, along with a host of affordable cultural and artistic activities. Some events, such as special late-night opening sessions, are directly aimed at the student community, like the events organised during Students’ Week.

Let’s talk art
Students studying for a university degree in Cultural mediation and management at the Toulouse Catholic Institute (ICT), and art and literature students from the pre-higher education preparation classes at Saint-Sernin sixth form college, wait for visitors in the galleries and offer short (or longer!) theme-based description of the artworks on display.
>> Outside of school holidays : Friday 2 pm to 6 pm; Saturday and Sunday 3.30 pm to 6 pm; first Sunday of the month 10 am to 6 pm (free admission) and during the monthly late-night opening sessions from 6 pm to 9 pm
> Free of charge
How does it work?
There’s no need to book in advance. The young mediators will be waiting for you in the galleries. The approach is relaxed and conversational.
