Although the church and Gothic Galleries are closed at the moment, you can still visit the Romanesque Sculpture Gallery, the Darcy staircase and the Painting and Sculpture Galleries on the first floor. The main cloister is still partly accessible during the renovation work.  <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><strong><strong>How long does it usually take to visit the museum ?<\/strong><\/strong> <\/strong> <br>Allow 1 or 2 hours for a laid-back visit.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Is the museum open for free on some days ?<\/strong><br>The museum is free on the first Sunday of every month, during the European Night of Museums, European Heritage Days and special events (consult our online \u2018Exhibitions and events\u2019 search tool).<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Can we visit the museum at night ?<\/strong><br>There is one late-night opening session (until 9 pm) per month, and sometimes more, to coincide with special events such as the European Night of Museums (<a href=\"https:\/\/augustins.toulouse.fr\/agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">check out our online \u2018Exhibitions and events\u2019 search tool<\/a>).<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Is the museum air conditioned ?<\/strong><br>Although the museum doesn\u2019t have air conditioning, its old stone architecture and the natural coolness of the cloister mean the areas you visit remain at a pleasant temperature.<br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>What advice do you have for hot weather ?<\/strong><br>On busy days (the first Sunday of the month, the summer months\u2014June to September\u2014Heritage Days, etc.), to protect yourself from the sun\u2019s glare and excessive heat, we recommend that you bring a hat or a parasol with you on your visit. This will make your wait much more comfortable. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have you redesigned the museum ?<\/strong><br>We have adopted an entirely fresh approach to the museum and its functions, with access and visitor itineraries that make it as comfortable as possible for visitors, a brand-new visitor experience and approach to the collections, a new exhibition design, and more.<br>&gt;For more information, consult: <a href=\"https:\/\/augustins.toulouse.fr\/en\/the-museums-metamorphosis\/\">the mus\u00e9ums metamorphosis<\/a><br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-title\" tabindex=\"-1\">\n    <button type=\"button\" class=\"accordion-titleButton\">\n        \n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-emerald-background-color has-background\" id=\"1-preparez-votre-visite\">2 &#8211; <strong>During your visit<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n    <\/button>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"accordion-content\">\n    \n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Can we eat in the museum ?<\/strong><br>Eating inside the museum is not allowed, and the same rule applies to the museum\u2019s outdoor areas such as the cloisters and garden.<br>However, at the end of your visit, you\u2019ll find a caf\u00e9 area in the gift shop, along with a small outdoor terrace! Both of those areas are available for visitors who purchase food and drink from the caf\u00e9 (apart from baby food). <br>&gt; You may also be interested in :<strong> Can we visit the museum with a baby ?<\/strong><br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Can we take photos in the museum ?<\/strong><br>Yes, you can take photos of the collections and the building itself during your visit. Mobile phones and cameras are allowed, but please don\u2019t use a flash.<br>Don\u2019t forget to post them on social media and tag us !<br>If you want to use special equipment (selfie stick, tripod, light) or shoot a video, you need to ask permission from the management team beforehand. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Can we make drawings at the museum ?<\/strong><br>Yes, you can make drawings at the museum, but only using dry media. You are not allowed to use ink, ballpoint pens, oil-based media or permanent markers. If you want to draw as a group or if you need to bring a lot of equipment with you (copyist activities, for example), please submit a request to the museum beforehand (and wait to see whether your request is accepted).  <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Where are the restrooms ?<\/strong><br>On the ground floor, the restrooms are located in the museum reception area. An additional restroom for PRM is located on the second floor near the lift for accessing the Painting Galleries. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do you have a cloakroom or lockers where I can leave my belongings ?<\/strong><br>Yes, you\u2019ll find the free cloakroom in the main cloister \u2013 it\u2019s accessible as soon as you purchase your ticket from reception. Several locker sizes are available, and each locker has its own key. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Can I take a break at the caf\u00e9 during my visit ?<\/strong><br>Yes, you can visit the caf\u00e9 then go back into the museum to continue your tour on the same day.<br>Make sure you keep your admission ticket. You\u2019ll need it every time you go back into the museum. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do you have audio guides ?<\/strong><br>Yes, the Mus\u00e9e des Augustins has audio guides to accompany your visit! You\u2019ll find a changing table in the reception area restroom.<br>You can stop to breast or bottle feed your baby wherever you like throughout the museum.<br>You can keep your pushchair during the visit, and two \u2018Play along\u2019 areas offer activities specially designed for little ones. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Can I bring my pushchair ?<\/strong><br>Yes! You can also enter the shop directly from rue de Metz. It\u2019s a hybrid space where you can buy souvenirs and books, as well as enjoy a drink or a sweet or savoury snack. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do you need a ticket to enter the gift shop ?<\/strong><br>Yes, anyone can enter the museum gift shop or caf\u00e9, with or without a ticket. Entry is via the forecourt, on rue de Metz. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do you have an online gift shop ?<\/strong><br>Yes. There is an<a href=\"https:\/\/boutique-musees.toulouse.fr\/list\/goods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> online gift shop<\/a> for all Toulouse museums and monuments. Are they for sale ? <\/strong><br>All the paintings, sculptures and contemporary installations are authentic originals (apart from two or three exceptions that are reproductions you can touch).<br>Our artworks are part of a collection put together with the aim of preserving and transmitting knowledge and culture. For that reason, they are not for sale or hire, and are considered to be <strong>inalienable<\/strong> \u2013 meaning they can\u2019t be assigned, sold or transferred. That principle guarantees they are conserved for future generations.   <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Is the museum church consecrated ? <\/strong><br>No, it has not been consecrated since the convent became a Bien National (national property) in 1789. It is an exhibition gallery belonging to the Mus\u00e9e des Augustins. <br><br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Is the Museum organ used by musicians ? <\/strong><br>The organ is managed by the Conservatoire de Toulouse (Toulouse\u2019s music school).
